Take Over

Thu, 10/03/2019 - 20:07 -- jrh

They saw,

They gawked,

They thought it was too much,

Unruly, unnatural, undesirable

My hair.

My personality.

My identity.

They didn't know that I,

With my unruly hair,

Would take over

The world.

Through music

Through art

Through Hollywood.

Those who cried,

Whos hearts

were turned to stone

At the sight of my raw self

Now say that I am brave,

That I am beautiful

That I am real

And that they have

Always loved me.

They like every post,

Those who used

To only leave

Pain.

They follow me on every platform,

Those who used to

Shun me from town.

They watch me every night,

Those who wouldnt

Even meet my

eyes.

I see the lies,

I see those who

At one point wanted

Nothing more

Than to see

Me fail

And I

Will ensure

That before I die

I will turn them all

To stone.
