A sweet goodbye

Thu, 01/25/2018 - 02:19 -- Andyram

Dear home,

Mine you never were, and never shall you be.

You wait for my return I hope,

But to be honest we,

shall never meet face to face,

so lets part gracefully.

I grew up on your side, so young.

I remember running free.

But then I had to leave,

I was gone,

and you remained in melancholy.

You begged for my return,

and still,

I never came.

Forgive me my dear friend,

But we have parted ways.

In you I never had real closure

but you were still my home,

and so I wish I could return

where once my soul was warm.

A human you are not,

but I mourned as if you were.

It pains just the same

when one loses their true home.

I'll remember you forever

until I get real old.

Will we meet again old friend?

Will you await my sweet return?

Shall I run into your embrace?

Shall I kiss you sound and sure?

but I am not the same,

I've grown.

And you are a reminder,

that what I had is no more.

I am no longer a child

but you will never see,

it's best to stay away from your sweet memory.

So let's not meet again or try.

I'll say to you once more.

I've cherished your kind company

but here we end for sure.

I'm glad I relished in your world.

Stay well dear friend

I say to you

Remain the same. so strong and pure.

I bid thee the fondest farewell,

Goodbye dear home don't wait for my return.
