Surviving a Nightmare

Location

Red haired, Blue eyed, Beautiful baby: Riding her bike thinking maybe just maybe: If I peddle a little harder I could probably fly: And before I know it I'll be touching the sky:: Around one more corner she comes upon a man: Nice and polite just waving his hand: He says hello and seems to be nice: But little did I know what kind of dice: I was about to roll: No idea what kind of a toll: I was about to pay: One what was supposed to be such a beautiful day: He said he had some puppies and asked if I wanted to see: And of course I say yes please: So we go inside and down dark stairs: Still so innocent, without any cares: That stranger danger isn't ringing a bell: Even with all the signs I still could tell: We get down stairs and his hand is on me: And suddenly I feel like I just can't get free: Fear sets in and I start to realize: And here is where my memory dies: Free for a few years: Until a wake up in tears: Night after night: Waking up in sheer fright: It's all coming back: I feel like I'm under attack: Time goes by: And I decide to try: To get help for myself: Instead of trying to put this memory on a shelf: Today I know how lucky I am: To survive such a nightmare and to find who I really am.
