Surprisingly, Life Can Go On Without You

Location

Sitting outside

Watching the clouds go by

The tree nearby

With leaves to the sky

I watch them fall each year

Just like a gentle tear

Like the ones I cried for you

The decaying wood from my old swing

I broke a piece off recently

I threw it at a shadow of you and me

And then you disappeared

Like you were never here

Sitting outside

Feeling the wind blow by

The tree nearby

Covered with snow overnight

I watch it fall each year

Just like a gentle tear

Like the ones I cried for you

The decaying wood from my old swing

Will always remind of you and me

It's broken and thrown away

Part of a bonfire in the late of May

Now the year goes by again

But this time you're gone

So maybe I can function
