Summer Serenity
A place like this,
It’s beauty so great,
Fills hearts with wordless ecstasy,
And floods minds with supernatural bliss:
A chandelier of stars pulses with radiance
Above lush carpets of grass
Coating hallways shimmering with twilight.
Wild flowers dance in the warm breeze
Swaying to a silent symphony;
A serenade to the chaste moonlight
That slips through cracks in a weaved ceiling.
Weathered walls reach their leafy tips towards the heavens,
And stretch their brown legs in streams of crystal.
Sleep on a pillow of moss,
Damp with the breath of summer.
May your dreams be as true as the earth beneath,
And as sweet as the cherries aloft,
May the morning dew pool in your palms
And evaporate in the summer heat.
