The Subterfuge of Student Loans

They want us to pay for college
They want us to pay rent
They make all of the student loans
Look like they're heaven sent

They want us to buy new textbooks
They want us to buy meal plans
But with the price of student loans
Will I ever eat again?

I get seven twenty-five an hour.
I have a single parent
In most rights, I am still just a kid,
But those loans aren't heaven sent.

They told me to make the grade
And those would pay for school
But now that I see the bills
I feel like I've been fooled.

They want us to pay for school.
They want us to pay rent.
They make crippling student loans
Look like they're heaven sent.
