Stranded, but Never Alone

The swish of the seas idly coo as the sun sits up in the sky,

bright as ever.

Turquoise waters shimmer as the light reflects off of them.

Looking out to the horizon, it suddenly occurs that the ocean is the only thing that surrounds me,

trapping me on this sandy prison.

But I am not alone.

A look to my left and I spot my best friend,

picking up a coconut.

In the midst of the seas,

in the midst of the chaos,

she is there, keeping me sane.

The winds can blow their hardest,

the water can drench the sand in salty revenge,

the sun can disappear for ages, hiding away in its superior sky,

but I will still have her,

keeping me sane.

My best friend.

Her utterly blonde hair twists in the breeze,

creating a halo effect around her head.

Her eyes look glint in the bright light,

sending an even bluer hue to her irises.

She waves, tranquil as can be.

I am stranded.

But I am never alone.
