Storm (Washed Away)

Lightning strikes

Faster than I can think.

Thunder roars

So loud I can't hear myself think.

Rain pours down

Washing away all emotion.

Peaceful storm

Quieting the commotion.

The pain became so great one day,

That I decided to lay outside,

Not caring whether I lived or died;

Nothing would change anyway.

Then the rain began to pour,

Lightning struck,

And thunder roared.

Somehow the storm washed it all away

Cleansed, no longer feeling stuck,

Ready to live the rest of the day.
