For Stories and Dreams

Location

At first I thought that

I lived and breathed for stories,

for endless, empty worlds

waiting to be filled

with magic and madness,

humans and their desires,

with conflict, passion, and

immeasurable possibilities-

all the ingredients needed

to bring those worlds to life.

But in some ways I live for emotions,

for anger and sorrow and joy

and everything in between,

to treasure each feeling

no matter how painful

and remember it

so that I can share what I've felt

and am feeling when I write,

my stories only taking on

lives of their own

by using these emotions,

so carefully savored and stored,

as the foundation for creating

countless more.

Ultimately,

I think you could say that

I live for people:

for thoughts,

for dreams,

for that little spark

that transforms a person,

fictional or not,

from an abstract idea

into someone that matters,

even if they matter

to only a single soul.
