Spark (written in April 1999)

You stand there

so beautiful

so tall and dark.

You look at me

You’ve created a spark.

You’ve lit in me

a flame

and my passion’s ablaze.

I look at you,

No words

just a smile

or a soft, gentle wave.

Sure,

we may chat,

or, sit for a bit.

You’ve awakened in me

 a yearning not weak.

I’ve wanted you

For much too long

Do you feel the same?

Or are you just being strong?

You are the spark

That fuels my fire.

Still no words

Just a burning desire.

Your nearness is warm

Yet my hands tremble so.

Quell this fire

Be my calm

In this mild inferno.

You drive me wild,

And I’m all aglow

I’m ever so happy

Until

you go.
