As soon as i stepped

Tue, 09/16/2014 - 15:02 -- Sasha V

As soon as i stepped into grand central

i knew it looked like i did not belong

it was all over my face that i had never been

to the city on my own before

it was all in my voice that i was an outsider

something about a CT accent is appealing to everyone here

where are you from shawty?

I’m from New London CT

but the instant you don’t say NYC

some correlate that to weak and foolish

don’t run game on me

my pants only fit one

i have no room for you

my waist is slim indeed

and not there for you to hold

you like me and want to know me for me

i’ll believe that when you say it

without trying to feel on my ass

get this preconception that girls

go to college to lose all their morals

out of your head

boy i’m going to college on scholarships

i’m out on thirsty thursdays

to have fun for me

not fun for we nor the team

where i’m from is where i’m from

but you gon have to respect my consent and my space

and take a step back
