Society's Lie

Mon, 01/15/2018 - 17:32 -- SrK

Condemned by the nature of society,

The status quo that instigates conformity.

To rebel is to take the forbidden fruit,

To enter the garden and be dragged through the Inferno,

To be made the sole root

Of society’s problems in which their faults lie.

“It’s because of people like you,”

Says the world of new.

The biggest lie of society,

“You are free to be you.”

Really?

Then what has become of my freedom?

To have gone from Baldwin’s sense of reality,

To the imprisonment of individuality,

Dear I,

Beware.

The devil’s reverse of the white lie.

A white bathed in red.
