So You are not Alone
Location
In third grade,
going from not knowing
how to read or write.
Then wanting to do them both
every second of everyday.
Finding a happy medium,
just because I can.
Freedom from feeling last place
moving forward and not fading away.
I write because I need to free
those inner thoughts,
trapped inside of me.
They express things
I can't, or won't say,
because I'm the bigger person.
The hurt, the pain,
and letting others in
come through only writing.
Instead of reaching out to you,
I don't know what to say,
so the blank, white
pieces of paper
become my voice.
I need to reach out,
and get out of my own way.
I have to let you know,
when things are bad or slow,
and even when they're not,
I can't show that,
can't voice that,
so instead I write,
just to let you inside.
And know,
you are not alone.
