So Let it Rain

The rain poured in the meadow

It reflected my mood, sadness

So let it rain

A butterfly landed softly on the railing over the river

It is a single sign of happiness in this meadow

But only today can I turn away from it

A broken heart can’t smile at happiness after only moments of pain

So let it rain

Let the rain show my sadness and isolation to the world

Let the rain show why I can’t be happy again

The butterfly flew away at these thoughts

Repulsed by sadness it flew

So let it rain

So let the rain pour

So let the pouring rain wash away the happiness

Because today, there just isn’t room for it
