When there is nothing left to do,

I smile.

not an ordinary smile though.

It’s contagious.

Infecting everyone around.

Soon the whole room embraces the same type of grin.

One that says,

            “Hey we’ll make it through this .”

It had the same affect.

Just because it went through

Metal & For 5. Years.

doesn't mean it changed it’s

POWERS.

A smile

Is my go to

Heal-all,

Make-everything-better,

I-am-totally-fine-&-put-together

Cover up.

My “cover up” though,

Gave me super powers.

Powers that strive for positive

Never for negative.

My smile invokes PRIDE.

It’s not pearly white

Or 

Perfect...

But it’s mine &

mine alone.

It’s genuine

            &

Honest.

Never shying from a challenge

Or cowering in fear.

Nor does it shrink

It shows

“I’m confident”

&

“I’ll be okay.”

We’ve been dangled

Over a monster

with jagged rocks as teeth,

...and survived.
