Slowly Dying

I'm slowly dying as the seconds tick by
I can feel myself fading
I should say my final goodbyes

My body goes numb and my breathing shallows
I can tell I wont be able to see the light of tomorrow

All light slightly dims with each labored breath
I can feel the cold caress of my everlasting death

She softly calls to me
promising to set my soul free

My final breath fills my breast
the thought strikes me

Did I pass my life's test?
