Slow Dance

Tue, 07/02/2019 - 21:48 -- A Finch

I’ll never forget that last dance

That I danced with her.

It only took a smile, a glance

And we were shoulder to shoulder.

We sank so deep into a trance

It seemed we’d never stir.

So with eyes locked together,

And lips inches apart,

We drifted even closer

Till we were heart to heart.

How odd to love a stranger

When we’re destined to depart.
