The Silent Blues

The red and blue lights flash

waking up to a commotion

my sister on a gurney

I don't know this emotion.

The silence is screaming

as the house grows cold

I don't know what to do

I was left alone.

She's in the hospital

her stomach was pumped

I don't know what to say

I'm in a slump.

I made a promise

to never be

the parent who

acts like he.

Things are better

she's a teacher now

I can't look at her though

without thinking of my vow...
