Silence Upon Blackened Waters

Location

Bridges tumble before our eyes
Our foundation giving way
And all that we cherished
It’s been falling apart for a while

The water never seemed so shallow
As we watched our boxes and barrels
Splattering on the ocean floor
Staining our clear blue waters, black

A once shining paradise
Dulled by an absence
Silence upon blackened waters
A stagnant aura of death and destruction

As far as the eye can see
Trails a deadly ebony stain
Try hard as we may
It refuses to disappear

Doomed by this terrible tragedy
We watch our dark demise
Limp shoulders and blank stares
Is there any help on the way?
