Silence

The day is silent,

despite the alarms shouting,

the blankets being folded,

the bacon sizzling,

and the cars honking.

The afternoon is silent,

despite the keyboard typing,

the student getting scolded,

the principal yawning,

and the lockers slamming.

The night is silent,

despite the crickets kneading,

the owls asking questions,

the mice scurrying,

and the families snoring.

The hospital is silent,

 despite the doctors scrambling,

the monitors beeping,

and the baby crying.

I am silent.
