From Shyness to Creativity

Location

Throughout elementary school, poetry was just another thing to read.

I didn't like it at first, it was a tedious deed.

Back then, I was and even still am a shy child.

A quiet one, who's imagination was and still is wild.

There were so many things I wanted to say.

Yet too shy to speak up, I just stayed away.

Up until now, reading and writing poetry has been my secret release.

Though I still am shy, creativity gives me a sense of peace.

The emotions spoken word just couldn't explain

Are written in poetic form, no longer in vain.

I don't write for my benefit alone.

I also write to inspire people, to make more smiles besides my own.

I'd rather let someone else have joy before I get mine.

And I hope to stir the dormant happiness in others, line by line.
