A Short Note On Self

Location

I woke up like this.

I opened my magic, crusty eyes this morning

And yawned my genius, stink-breath mouth.

I lifted my sleep-heavy body with the strength of lions, Herculean!

I woke up like this.

I brushed my teeth with validity

And brushed my hair like a princess.

When I undressed, I didn’t imagine that anyone was watching.

I woke up like this.

I shook hands with the mirror and gave her a wink

She couldn’t help but fall in love with me.

I told her we could be friends.

I woke up like this.

My teeth crook with panache and goldenrod freckles scatter and

My face is a fairy-tale hero.

My face fights perfect with a sword.

I woke up like this.

I live inside of skin that heats like a stove and

I live inside of fingers that are thick and bold and loud.

I live inside of a soft stomach, heaving with laughter.

I woke up like this.
