Shooting Star
Location
Flying wingless I rip the sky
Guided by voices that silent cry
"Pending orders, standby, standby,
Wait until there is reply.
Orders received, confirm, comply,
Coordinates given, received, now fly
Since this is the place where they must die,
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye."
Shooting ahead, I take with me Judgement Day,
While below the people gaze without dismay
At me and my celestial play.
"It's a shooting star," shouts one, clearly gay,
"Then make a wish," all the rest convey.
"I wish for life, its enemies away,
A world at peace, a world less gray,
A world not yet fallen to decay."
Had I some tears and I an eye
Rain endless would have poured from the sky
As I allowed myself to cry and cry
As for dominance I tried to vie.
I don't want to see them die,
I don't want to say goodbye,
Short is a life lived on high
Made to make life go awry.
