She Had No Name

She was no longer the girl with no name

She became noticed when tasks came up

People came to her for help, but didn’t know her name

Why didn’t they know her name?

She was no longer the girl with no name

She learned to speak her mind, and

Grew less afraid when she had to make bold decisions

People went to her for guidance, but didn’t know her name

Why didn’t they know her name?

She was no longer the girl with no name

She started to become noticed

She became the president of this and that club

People admired her, but they didn’t know her name

Why didn’t they know her name?

She was no longer the girl with no name

She snapped

Her thoughts deadly

Her parents grew worried

What’s happening?

She was no longer the girl with no name

She was tired of pretending

Acting made her tired and weak

People didn’t talk to her, but they didn’t know her name

Why didn’t they know her name?

She was no longer the girl with no name

She became more open, but lonelier too

She gained new confidence, but a new persona too

They came, but they didn’t know her name

Why didn’t they know her name?

Change is good right?

Why did it feel so wrong?

She was no longer the girl with no name

Everything was fake, she lied

She didn’t change

And they would never know her name

She was no longer the girl with no name

Sometimes she thought it was getting better

She spoke more

She laughed more

She went out more

She made her parents proud

But she would slip, down, down

Down

She was no longer the girl with no name

Change isn’t easy, she said

Take it one step at a time, they said

She closed her eyes and

Tried again

She was no longer the girl with no name

She learned to speak her mind, and

Grew less afraid when she had to make bold decisions

People went to her for guidance, but didn’t know her name

Why didn’t they know her name?

She was no longer the girl with no name

And this time was different

She said what she should have said from the beginning

They listened and nodded with tears

She smiled

She was no longer the girl with no name

It became easier to let her guard down

To show her true feelings

They went to her for friendship, and they knew her name

They knew her name
