Shadows Come With Night, But Only For Night
walking back and forth, the dawn fades in and out,
rosy cheeks for a deep red sky,
reflecting every feeling, of love and hurt, fear and anticipation,
feet sinking into the moistened sand as they walk along,
best friends for now, best friends till gone,
we look up to see a blessed gift of peace as the gray clouds flutter in front,
the red fades to a deep purple and into a calming blue,
till there's nothing to stand out and the dark bends and shapes each shadow,
yet they're shadows of excitement for the break of sunlight to spawn,
and so we anticipate the dawn.
