One for my baby cousin,

Two for my sister’s knee,

Three for my faulty lungs.

Two writing competitions:

One that I won,

One that I failed.

Four Road Trips:

One for my birthday,

One for family meals,

One for friends ‘n parties,

One for college tours.

One comic convention,

One new laptop,

One new class president,

One hurricane recovery,

One more book finished.

Seventeen things.

Next year, I will be eighteen.

And I can add “One first day of college” to my list of seventeen things
