Senior Year

Senior year,

I shed a tear.

The last chance to make a lasting impression,

To leave the place that has required my dedication.

Can't let anyone down, not yet

Can't be at this school's debt.

I HAVE to prove that I was worth it,

All the work and the late nights that I couldn't quit.

Teachers worked hard to teach me,

I need to make them proud that they gave me that A instead of a B.

This is my senior year, the last chance

I'm not the scared freshman at their very first school dance,

Or the sophomore afraid to dream

Or even that Junior who just wanted to scream.

My parents slaved away to make sure I was okay,

My friends cheered me on during a bad day.

I'm a senior now

And I'm going to make them all say "wow".
