See Me

Location

I want you to listen

As often as you teach.

I want you to practice

All the lessons that you preach.

I want you to see me

As more than just some grade.

I'm not ready for my future,

I want to tell you I'm afraid.

The road ahead is scary,

I don't know where to turn.

I don't know which bridge to cross,

Or which one to burn.

I want you to stop demanding

Respect you've yet to earn.

Instead I'll keep pretending

That I know what to do

Even though I'm scared

And haven't got a clue.

I want you to stop looking,

I want you to see.

I'm more than just some grade,

The future starts with me.
