Seasons Change

Location

Oh little girl,

Radiation of light exudes you

Hymn of twirling birds surrounds you

Blooming to a new you

Healthy pedals and a stem

Elizabeth before queen

The big apple, eaten to the core

Lights, horns, songs, passing steps…

ONE!

Puzzled Silence….

TWO!

Screaming of terror

Awoken the bear

A congress’ declaration

Brave signatures at the dotted line

Actions before words

Accumulation of uniforms

Playing needle in a haystack

Oh fathering soldier,

Greek statue

in the eyes of little girl.

Immediately leaving his family of two,

Plus one…

Worries left at home

Three seasons pass

Attack

No holding back

Bombs and flowing sand

Gunshots and dodging for safety

Uncle Sam, “I want you” and what else?

Gathered troops

Left right left!

Truck full of ton blocks.

Father behind for guard

A ton collapsed

Snap of a leg.

Father in aid

Deported by a plane

An explosion of throbs

Overnight fix

Home to love

Home to change…

Fathering solder

Does not father anymore

Static he was

Broken statue he became

Was it leg or head?

Now what?

Father as a child

Motorcycle and new toys

Heartless and numb

Arguments and destruction

Parents no more

Papers were more

Oh big girl,

Light dimmed slowly

Birds don’t sing

Flower fell steep

Falling pedals

Chilly breeze
