I have looked up to you since birth pondering your existence while lost in the meadows of my mind. The animals and familiar faces I find in your masterful design amazes me still. Metaphorically speaking, you’re alive because I’ve watched your eyes swell with sadness and shower life! Some days, I believe you to be filled with industrial ideas, but your creative thoughts drain your mountainous figure and fill my cup of tea. As I’ve watched you, I wonder… have you watched me? In between the nights that you protect the moon from night time horror movies, your shine involves all that I wish to embody. When I stare at your ancient novelties, I recall vivid memories of those before me. You have watched the aged oceans and reflected upon her beauty; the specs of sand that keep my feet warm know you, truly. Gazing upon your stars I see myself underneath the vastness of your knowledge. As I attempt to count the countless eyes who see the same Sea of Clouds, I realize the depth of your strength while you carry the weight of the world and hold me close through the air. Even you have a barrier that you use to protect the ones you love that scientists have coined the “atmosphere”. The flames of the sun are strong, but even as his army attempts to penetrate your walls and seize your treasures, you have shown no fear. Your winds travel from here to there, children smile from ear to ear, men and women live with love and care—you silently watch. Will you never share your thoughts? Do you hear my prayers and must they pass through your gates to get to God? If so, let them through! Tonight I’ll send an army asking for the wisdom of your silent reflections. Anything I know, you knew. While you patiently wait for commandments, watch me, because I’ll be watching you.
