Running Up That Hill

Right now, the world was in turmoil.
Under the thumb of hell
Nowhere left to turn
Nowhere left to hide
Into her soul, she went
Nestling it close lest it is taken from her
Growing up too fast.

Under the dawn of the sky
Priding herself on her strength

Today was the day when everything changed
Hearing the voice call to her
Angelic and true
Tempted by the devil, the shadows followed her

Hearing the call
Inner peace
Lasting moments
Lingering for a lifetime
