Risks

I took a risk.

I applied to graduate school,

I was filled with fear of the unknown and looking like a fool.

I excelled in my classes,

I impressed the masses.

I took a risk.

I applied for pre-approval on a home loan.

So many memories, house hunting with my love.

In May, we moved in and I made it my own.

Our home, it fits like a glove.

I took a risk.

In August, celebrating my birthday family,

Again, my love pushed me to raise the bar.

My uncle informed us his company would sell me a car happily.

So, I went and bought my first brand new car.

2016 was full of firsts and risks.

Anxiety spikes, ups, and downs.

Love and happiness because of him,

I have went out on more than one limb,

and feel as though I have worn many crowns.
