Rightfully Unrequited

I wish i could stop the butterflies

flooding my stomach and stinging my heart

are they bees?

the sweet and sour sensation

i love to feel

the sting reminds me

that i cant say

and you dont care

the sting ensures me

you arent the same

you dont look at me the same

the light-

it's different

the pain from the sting

its almost enjoyable

the pain is enough

for me to stay

it drives me mad

but its enough

this toxic cycle

unintentional but all the same

if i could forget you

could i be sane?

if i had the choice

nothing would change

my feelings for you

and your uncaring towards me

and your uncaring towards me

what would i do if we were the same

what could we do

if you were as insane

driven mad by you

your essence, your eyes

your mind

you're kind

this poem would be so different

could you be mine
