Right Here

All of my life has been pretty good

During all of it a lot has happened,

but all it did was make me a better person

Because right here,

I learned how to read

Right here,

I learned to write,

Right here,

I found my job

Right here,

I figured out that I want to direct movies

And even though I have no chance at being good at it, it’s one of my dreams

Right here, I learned to have dreams and to do my best to follow whatever I can do

Right here, I listened to my first songs

Sitting on the computer, blasting You Rock My World and the Lose Yourself

Dancing and singing like a moron

Performing my so-called “Moves” at family reunions

For once I was the center of attention for something I did every day

And I was proud

Because I was right here

I've heard and eventually dealt with some situations I was told of ever since I can remember

And I know how to deal with it

I knew when to say no

Because I learned that right here

And Sometimes I didn't say no to the little bad things that I didn't learn here,

but we’re all humans

So don't take me down just for mistakes

And there may be more mistakes than there has been accomplishments,

but I have to remind myself that I'm not even 18 yet

To forget that my life isn't close to ending,

but that it’s progressing

Progressing into the unknownness of where I’ll end up

That maybe staying in the bright lights of possibly doing more poetry, looking into nature, and maybe starting college

And that maybe Ill stop saying “maybe” and “Possibly” and I’ll hopefully have confirmation for how I control what I do

But no matter what happens to me in my life, I won't forget where I came from

Right here
