"The Return of the Rain"

The return of the rain heralds ages of growth
where leaves left forgotten to their last ending goeth.

The return of the rain hails the heel of old fires
makes moss meet to grow on tall boreal spires.

The return of the rain grants the gardeners know
that the summer is over, the rivers now flow.

With return of the rain the cool breeze arives,
its cold biting breath binds with fingers like knives.

With return of the rain fields flood with new power
small springs strike with rage from their banks to devour.

Now return does the rain on this time every year
It returns for the people to raise it a cheer.
