Repetition: The Human Condition

Mon, 11/03/2014 - 09:13 -- hf94

It’s easy to put mercy out of sight.

Forget that people feel like you and I.

This is the world that lives in black and white.

They say that change will not come overnight.

There must be hearts with will to empathize.

It’s easy to put mercy out of sight

There was a war to set all of this right.

The years away: one hundred forty nine.

And yet the world still lives in black and white.

I watched a boy go running from the fight.

They knew he had not meant to cross the line.

It’s easy to put mercy out of sight.

I wonder if that boy will see the light

Will his family find peace in given time?

This is the world that lives in black and white.

You hear the people cry with all their might.

As once again they say, “Just give it time.”

It’s easy to put mercy out of sight.

This is the world that lives in black and white.
