Remember the Day
Location
People make mistakes
Some worse than other's,
But who are you to take the life
Of someone else's brother?
Before you pull the trigger
Think of what lies next
A valley of unknown
The land of no man.
You say it's not worth the fight,
But I bet if your family knew
They'd be knocking down the doors
Just to make sure you don't fall through.
The darkness that surrounds you,
Will eventually fade away.
For every cloud of darkness
Always parts away.
I tell you this, oh friend of mine
Don't do this to yourself
Because when you're gone you won't believe
We'll be in a living hell.
This may be a fight,
But not one you will lose.
So drop the gun, count to ten,
And embrace living in the blues.
One day they will leave you,
Your shadows will drift away.
They will only be a memory and you will say
" Remember the day. "

Wow. I wish more people could read this poem. Suicide is a very serious problem that most people do not foresee in others until it is too late. It is so hard when we see others going through so much pain that they decide to end the one life they have. It is so important that we be there for our friends and family through the tough times. Thank you for writing this amazing poem!

you spoke to nearly every adolescent in the entire world this poem is encouraging to those who feel like life is no longer worth living you are letting them know that to take away a life is a selfish act because they will not be the only ones affected by this change you open the eyes to those in a blind surrender
