Remember?

Do you remember when we where just kids?
Not failed tests and papers and bundles of stress.
Have you forgotten what it's like to not be confused?
Simply understanding something the first time
a power we may have abused.
Now we're all unsure about
what the fuck we're supposed to be.
And everyone won't stop asking
about the person you need to be.
They say you can't be into girls,
They say you can't be too fat or too thin,
They outline you and fill you in,
Every
single
day.
Remember when none of that even mattered?
when we were just lunch boxes stuffed with love,
and senseless grins?
I miss that. I miss just being me,
not having to pretend all the time.
Do you remember when we were just kids?
