Remember

Location

Swinging in the sunset

Riding bikes at full speed

Down an old dusty driveway

Climbing up the old magnolia

Our tower of dreams

Lives laying ahead

Covered in a secretive veil

Won’t you remember these days

The one’s where we were children

Minds full of hope and discovery

Imagination is how we survived

That town so empty and desolate

Families split

Families dying

We stayed together as friends should

But will you remember me

When you have little ones

Discovering their own identities

Remember, we were never perfect

We never will be

Pass our joy to your children

And let your love blossom

Like the brightest flower in the garden

Shine your light and plant a tree

Remember me.
