Red, white, and blue
We are the generation of thinkers
The generation of reckless drinkers
The generation in which my eyes are appalled and I have opened my mouth to exercise the right I was given
This is America.
Some are raised in ignorance,
Taught to belittle someone because of their color,
Raised to gawk at the differences in which they allow to separate us.
Some were raised stained in the blood of our country,
Knowing the feeling of loss and the love in our flag,
Standing for the pledge of allegiance and removing the hat from their head.
Some were raised,
Some raised themselves.
Feeding themselves and their siblings,
Blood or no blood we still took care of each other.
From the ground their dirty feet rest and in the clouds they were taught there is only one sun,
From birth knowing they only had each other
We are a generation,
We are lost,
We are found,
We are saved,
And we are forgotten.
