Rebirth

I hold my breath when you kiss me to stop the rattling of my ribs and the expansion of lungs. So my body remains undisturbed, unless it is touched by you. So the only sound filling my ears is the symphony of lips and the pounding of hearts beating. And nothing else. Being released from your kiss feels like coming up out of the water for air. The air feels so much lighter now. And so much sweeter. This is what it must feel like to take your very first breath. This is rebirth.
