Purple Mountains Majesty
Roaring through the Purple Mountains Majesty
Comes a thunder deeper than any ocean
And from across the golden fields and valleys
Comes a great people in motion
For we stand and we roar and fly and we fight
And yet still we stand on the Purple Mountains waiting for what’s right
And so many people give up climbing
For the cliffs are steep and the hike is tiring
But still we stand on the edges of the Purple Mountains
And still we roar louder than the fountains
And still we fly higher than the falcons
And still we fight harder than the people who hold us back
We the people
We still stand
We whose slave boats were brought onto these lands
We whose labor is used at grand
We whose people built up from the sands
We who’s sciences educated man
We who span the entire nation
From sea to shining sea
Have suffered from these dirty seas,
Have seen the water so unclean,
With the trash of our people, and the blood of the fallen
From people who died in the past few centuries.
We have climbed and we have stumbled our way to the top of the Purple Mountains
And We ask of you, for our friends, families, and those who we call our own
“Crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea”
