Purple Love

The door slams

Jose Cuervo and tobacco fill the air

A yellow vase with white tulips crumbles with fear

The shiny silver lamp, no longer a shiny silver lamp

The pale broken blinds rattle, fearing your presence

Our wedding photo shatters to pieces along with my happiness

I run to blend in with the shadows on the wall

My only salvation…

“Padre nuestro que estás en cielo,

Santificado sea tu nombre”

I pray, certain to be my last prayer

One wooden door opens and shuts and then another

And then fingertips touch

The familiar pain begins

And then crystals shatter on the floor

Leather against my skin

Love, all I can think about

Leather against my skin

Rubies spring out of my body

Leather against my skin

I love, love and will always love him
