Purple and Blue
I was a lilac sky
And you were an ocean blue.
The glistening color which sparkled in your eyes
made me go to cloud nine.
Those eyes which only sparkled for purple
filled me with a great love only for blue.
Unique and brilliant;
my sky had been conquered by each passing wave you threw.
You opened my eyes to a world of purple
The colors showing vibrance for the first time in a long time.
Old and forgotten emotions filled the earth;
A purple and blue, a wonderful combination indeed.
Different but also the same,
One change and I could become blue,
One alter and you could become purple.
The contrast between our colors was ever so slight,
But was it really all that great?
My favorite color was you, but in reality, your favorite color was green.
Nevertheless, you continued to passionately love me and I passionately loved you.
Each new day passed by, bringing childish thoughts
But eventually, our tranquil life had to come to an end;
the forces of nature taking it's course and tearing us apart.
We slowly separated,
and the beautiful ocean blue you once showed me had
soon since been tucked away,
And the brilliant lilac sky that I'd shown you slowly went back deep within me,
Filled with a sorrow I can't describe.
If only I was a green, then we would be free.
Sadly, you moved on just as the waves of a mighty ocean do,
And I lost my way, unable to figure out which way to go;
Living a life without the soaring blue who once guided me.
I searched and searched for my beloved blue,
But all was soon lost.
I chased after you,
You shoved me away;
my presence only bringing pain towards the girl
who had taken your heart.
From strangers to lovers and back to strangers once again,
We both became distant memories.
Close but also far;
He's the blue whom I adored,
and I'm the purple who crushed his heart.
If only I could've been a green,
the love that we had was true;
but--
Our love was rebellious and unpredicted; different.
So, the colors that we bore revealed an unrequited love
Between you and I,
A lilac sky,
and an ocean blue.
