PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN

I’ve traveled to many countries,

Met people white black and brown,

I’ve seen beautiful locales,

But India wins the crown,

We are a country with diversity,

Where people live in peace and unity,

The natives here are so friendly,

Whom our hearts love entirely,

This land of vibrant colours,

Filled with festivals to warm our hearts,

With various religions and cultures,

Diwali, the festival of light,

Where we burn fireworks luminous and bright,

Holi, the festival of colours,

Where we playfully stain others,

Sure we have some flaws,

But if we work together,

We can change them all,

There’s nothing left to say,

Except, I love India 365 days,

I can gladly proclaim,

That I am proud to be an Indian,

And an Indian I shall remain…
