Promise Me

It's hard to put these thoughts into words,

My heart won't tell my mouth what it should say.

Thoughts of you flutter in my head like birds.

Why wait for tomorrow? I'll start today.

You are the anchor that holds me steady,

The sun shining through when it's pouring rain,

The summer we wish was here already,

You're the song that makes it all go away.

Just hearing your laugh makes me start to smile,

You make my heart beat faster in my chest.

Simply seeing you makes my day worthwhile,

Out of them all, you'd win, no contest.

You don't know what you do to me at all.

Promis you'll catch me if I start to fall.
