In Pots and Green

From far away you see pots and green

Surely not much, what could it mean?

Just some plants, some leaves merely a twig

But come a little closer and then you will see

The life, the stories, the intricate web

Of a balance of beings, full of strife and of peace

Even more dramatic than the epics from greece

Where monstrous insects devour their kin,

And ravaging maggots explore the compost bin

Where armies of ants clash for control

Only to have a dragon with feathers steal their goal

The home of a toad just beneath the soil

As he stands guard like a gargoyle

What I mean to say is there's more to see under the foliage

Enough to power ideas with concentrated voltage

The key is to go deep, down to the source

And let the muse’s run their course

For when you seek out the varying details

Your creativity always prevails!
