Poem to Nirvana

From the heels of an emasculated complainer o' pain
I dedicate this to the great and wondrous Kurt Cobain.
May your despondency and apathy never wither
Written as a fellow lefty, grown hearing "Sliver".
While counterculture may have grown to complacency
Know that some instillments of ideas require latency.
You taught of empathy, in a time grown mad
When all the world seemed on the brink and sad.
You blamed yourself for human fallibility
As if humanity even has credibility.
You kept us going through the ills of life
And kept us aware, how dangerous our collective hive.
Thank you Kurt, and Nirvana, for with the lights out, it is indeed less dangerous.
