please mister president

Please mister president,
Listen to my plea.
There are fellows like you and me
Living on the street,
They are treated like meat.
When they have hearts and souls
Like you and me,
But it seems to be,
You have coal in your soul
If all you care about is winning votes
Instead of putting coats
On the homeless when they’re cold
Please mister president,
I’ve been told you can help.
These fellows on the street,
They have no shoes on their feet.
They deserve a seat in our hearts.
Please mister president,
Grow some compassion in your garden,
My abruptness you must pardon,
But please mister president
Our nation needs an adjustment.
The poor get poorer and the rich get richer
Where is the love when hate is the answer?
