The Plant We Must Help Grow

Love is stubborn:

it digs its roots into the pit of your stomach

and winds around your ribs

and blooms within your heart.

Love is difficult to get rid of,

and so it must be taken care of,

so that the body in which it grows is not

ripped apart

when the flower wilts.

Love is easy to cultivate if you take the time to

Talk,

Trust,

and Try

as often as you would pour water into a new sprout’s pot.
